That's my gripe. I accept that there's a cohort for whom the history etc is important or at least of interest. When I came home from Mrs B's birthday meal at the pub in 2002 to find the Queen Mother had died I was fine watching stuff about the abdication etc.; it was an intersting peep into the lives of my Mum's generation.
But why did it need to stop my Friday routine of watching the Gaelic drama Machair; starting a new series on 9 April?
