I remember watching in disbelief as Trump won the Presidency vote with all th eknowledge about his shenanigans etc. I really couldn't believe there were so many gullible Americans.
A few years later I remember thinking how the hell there are so many gullible British folk willing to vote Johnston to be PM. Yes, some of these might have been "who else could we vote for" but I do believe there are huge similarities between what we now have in the UK and what America have been through.
And if we are not careful (and so far there is no sign that we are), we are in serious danger of rapidly going down the same plughole. And, like America, there will be so many folk saying "oh we didn't see that coming".
