I like them, though they are more basic than Premier Inns.
I recall about in about 2015 we were visiting Miss Z at uni and stayed in one. Dog friendly was a bonus.
Miss Z met us for breakfast and I went to ask the reception how much it would cost to allow Miss Z to have breakfast with us and they said no charge. (It's free for guests.)
It wasn't very busy and the lady came by with a pack full of muffins and pastries and filled Miss Z's backpack with them! She was very grateful as were her house-mates.
I have around 900,000 Holiday Inn points which I really need to get around to using sometime.
I recommend the Intercontinental at Hyde Park Corner and Dusseldorf. Both excellent IHG hotels.
