Scottish football, with the exception of the big two, has ALWAYS been rubbish, well below par. Sometimes stuff happens, like a fergie comes along and gets a good club going, but thats the exception rather than the rule. Its been that way for the last 30 years. And frankly, even the big two dont cut in english standards, let alone european.
AS for only the big teams get players into the squad, nearly relegated West Ham have two players who are likely to make the core of the squad.
English football has a problem for sure. Too much money, demanding instant success, has sucked in the cream of world players, leaving no room to nuture and develop home grown players. Europe has similar problems.
