Oh Gawd, what have I done? They're all going out to buy and read Bleak House! It is NOT an easy read, lads. It's hellishly long and the narrative is developed from three standpoints. As an AL student once remarked, as you read the early chapters, it seems the book starts three times! And there's a lot - I mean, a lot - of characters. It's all cleverly linked, but you'll need determination and patience.
Don't blame me if you don't like it. As for handing in an essay next week, whoever said that, I'll be impressed if you've even finished reading it by then.
