A packet of Citric Acid cristals is by far the cheapest and easiest approach.
Used em for decades. Taps, shower heads, plug holes saucepans etc.
It will identify any poor chrome plating and expose the copper underneath.

I use high strength ( from the Chemist) Hydrogen Peroxide for removing fresh blood stains.
Leaves no evidence :-)
Milton ( mild bleech ) for removing tea stains from mugs. Good on Tupperware where a scourer is not the best tool.
