Keeping the Car4Play Community Safe

Keeping the Car4Play Community Safe

Last updated: October 2025

This page explains, in plain English, how Car4Play looks after its community and meets its responsibilities under the UK Online Safety Act 2023. It’s written for our users first and foremost.

Who We Are

Car4Play is a UK-based discussion forum run by Khoo Systems Limited. Most conversations are about motoring, with some wider general discussion. The site is designed for adults aged 18 and over.

Our Approach to Safety

We want Car4Play to be a place where people can share views and experiences without being abused, misled, or put at risk.

To do that, we:

  • Take action against illegal and harmful content
  • Apply clear rules so people know what’s acceptable
  • Give users simple ways to report problems
  • Try to be fair, proportionate, and transparent

Posts are not checked before they appear, but we do review content that’s reported or clearly breaks the rules.

Age Policy

Car4Play is for people aged 18 or over. When you sign up, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Content that could be harmful to children is not allowed.

What Isn’t Allowed

To keep discussions respectful and lawful, some types of content aren’t permitted. This includes:

  • Anything illegal under UK law (for example terrorism, fraud, or child sexual abuse material)
  • Threats, harassment, or hate speech
  • Defamatory or knowingly false claims about people
  • Sexually explicit or obscene material
  • Content that encourages violence or serious harm
  • Impersonating others or deliberately misleading users
  • Viruses, malware, or technically harmful material
  • Spam, scams, or unauthorised advertising

You can find the full detail in our House Rules and Terms and Conditions.

Moderation – What May Happen

Our moderators may:

  • Edit or remove posts that break the rules
  • Hide posts while they’re being reviewed
  • Suspend or ban accounts for serious or repeated breaches

We try to act consistently and explain our decisions where possible.

Reporting Problems

If you see something that doesn’t feel right, you can:

  • Flag a post as offensive
  • Use the “Report message” button
  • Leave a short note for the moderators

Reports are reviewed and help us keep the forum running smoothly.

If You Disagree With a Decision

If your post is removed or your account is restricted and you think we’ve got it wrong:

  • You can contact the moderators
  • We’ll look at the decision again where appropriate

Keeping Things Up to Date

We regularly review our rules and moderation practices to make sure they’re sensible, fair, and compliant with UK law, including guidance from Ofcom.
