50:50 on this.... with the VW setup you should be able to turn it off with just two presses of a button combination as a fix and has been raised several times on the Mk8 GTi forum.
On my Mk7.5 it's not on all the time, I can see it helping on the motorway but it's not good along country roads or narrow villages when the system picks up only one side of the road and tries to push you into the middle of the road with cars coming at you... or if you find a nice bit of road to exploit your cars potential.
