Hi All,

Having meant to post this a few weeks back the write up for todays Top Gear in which they test the new 3 wheeler has encouraged me to pull my finger out, so to speak!

Feb half term holidays was spent not far from Great Malvern and we decided to go for a guided tour of the factory.

For £10 you get taken round, are able in some cases to speak to some of those building the cars, can get right up close to everything and take as many photos as you like- all in all you get about 2 and a half hours, which I thought was great value.

The sounds and smells are fantastic and for me it was an amazing place, very evocative, and a real highlight of the hols. We took the children (aged from 2-10) and they too all found it very enjoyable. Our daughter (the 10 year old) in particular loved it.

After the tour there is a small museum you can look round, all included in the price.

If anyone is in the area I can thoroughly recommend it.

I went to school with a member of the Morgan family, he was running the business a few years ago and maybe still is.

They've moved around Malvern a couple of times, and the current premises used to be a glove factory.

I contacted Morgan way back in the early 80's when I was interested in buying one of their lower priced models, but lost interest when they told me that I would probably have to wait seven years for delivery.

I think a factory tour would be an interesting way to spend a couple of hours next time we're in that area, although at £10 per head I assume a buffet lunch will be available?

Reminds me of a comedy sketch 25 yrs ago or so

Bob pass the hammer, Bob hold that, Bob tighten .......

Cars built by Roberts!!!

Which moves one to imagine that a disproportionate number of the workers building Espaces are Richards...

And of course the Roberts which build Morgan cars are built by Jones :)

Dad's quest for a classic car for his retirement ended just before Christmas when he finally bought a dark blue Morgan +8 3.5 on SU carbs. There's a Morgan racing day at Donington in 3 months' time, it will be great to sit by it with a picnic and watch the on-track action.

The factory tour sounds enticing, wish I'd known they did them when I had a regular pick-up in Great Malvern last year.
