I was in Altrincham today and called in at my favourite model railway shop[ to grice the stock. Wifey had other places to go. I have a locomotive on order and I was talking to the owner about it.
I commented that I still had £30 of their gift vouchers left from last Christmas and it would soon be time for the kids to be getting me some more..Christmas + birthday coming up.
' Not from us ' was his reply. Apparently some stupid ruling has come out which puts them into the bracket of dealing in ' financial services ' in some way or another ! Need a licence, or summat.
Great ! Ideal for a kid to buy for dad, a tenner doesn't break the piggy bank and dad ( me ) can build up a few and get something really nice. Nothing else I really crave for presents. ( Not that I give a toss about being bought anything .)
I wonder if it applies to the manicure vouchers that SWM gets as extras from her ' nail lady ' for our girls and vouchers for rides at theme parks, etc.
