I'd like to fit one or two cameras at the front of the house. Would like to capture good images of whoever keeps knocking on the door / windows at night. Only at night so must be capable of recording in hours of darkness. It's more kids then prospective burglars - I think - but am getting fed up with it. There's a floodlight with PIR which would light up the area or do they work in low light?. Can drill through front wall easily to pass cables and have room for a recorder if required....or maybe wireless cameras??
Have seen a floodlight / PIR with a camera built in - don't know how much good they are??
Never fitted a system but quite handy with a screwdriver. Would appreciate recommendations. Thanks.

You can get pretty good cameras that will link in to your home network wirelessly - they can be had with IR LEDs so you won't need a floodlight.
Another alternative is something like this.

That was quick, RP...thanks. Would never have known about being able to link to home network. By that you mean the wireless router, I imagine?? Any idea where to source them - I'll have a Google. The Swann one looks easy enough...I guess the cameras would be hard wired for that one. The main thing would be clarity of image...no good having a blurred splodge - I'd like to see who it is....and it has to be clear at night.
