Anyone recommend a particular one, or even one to avoid. Any and all experiences/stories wanted. Thanks.

My Honda Happiness warranty has so far paid out on a new clutch master cylinder at 95k and clutch assembly at 99k, so no complaints there.
It was £250 for year 4 (@80k miles) and £400 for year 5 (@96k miles), including full AA 5* European breakdown cover, but with the condition that servicing is carried out at a Honda main dealer.
I'm happy so far.

As per MoneySavingExpert forum, the 3rd party warranties are not worth the paper they are written on (eg. Warranty Direct etc.) because of so many exclusions.
Also wear & tear are not covered and virtually all failures can be termed as wear & tear.
I had a policy from Warranty Direct. When my power window failed they said take it to a garage, pay from your pocket to see if motors failed. Only they would pay 70% of motor cost. They wouldn't pay labour cost to strip down motor etc.
However, I'd say if you like to extend manufacturers' backed warranties, then go for it.
Or just buy a Kia :)

Just be aware of the business model of warranty companies.
Take the maximum possible in premium, pay out the minimum possible in claims.

"Take the maximum possible in premium, pay out the minimum possible in claims."
It'd be an odd business if that wasn't their aim...

Indeed, people forget they are not a public service like the national health. In any doubt they will always come down on the side of not paying out.

I assume that is for nearly new Hondas ?

I think it's available up to six years old, but I don't know if it needs to be taken out as the manf warranty expires. It's not mileage limited, although obviously as the car gets older there will be more (perfectly reasonable) wear and tear limitations.

nice to see such a different attitude to an old sight forum i visited where someone would start saying soga soga soga even if not applicable as here
