Which is supposed to be the easiest to use please?

I use GoCompare, simple enough, does the job, and doesn't send loads of marketing email, which I'm told some of the others do.
|
I use www.moneysupermarket.com . I seem to get a lot less spam after using them.
I used comparethemarket.com once and got loads of spam

Won't there soon be a car insurance comparison comparison website?
|
I use go compare or the meerkat one. I never get any spam afterwards because I provide a false email address and telephone number.

I have found it's best to use several comparison sites - they don't give the same results, even for the same insurers. In other words, you need to compare the comparisons yourself.
|
The MoneySavingExpert article in the link above has a step-by-step process for using the comparison sites and filling in the gaps.
|
I've never had spam from GoCompare.
I find that using a combination of the main comparison sites pays off but, generally speaking, GoCompare comes up with the best offers.
|
I have used confused.com for years and years very successfully.
|
slight tangent, i keep getting text messages from some insurance place telling me i can claim x amount in damages for an accident i had 4 years ago... thats all done and dusted but im tempted to ring them back and give them a load of cock and bull and get them to waste there time on a bogus claim....
|
A less well known comparison site is tiger.co.uk, I tried them a couple of years ago and they didn't come up with anything useful, but this year they gave me 3 quotes that were cheaper than any I got by following the moneysavingexpert guide.
Zookeeper, I suspect bogus claims is there main trade, I just got a text telling me I might be entitled to £3750 for the accident I had. Last accident I had was over 10 years ago and cost £5 to fix.
|
Does anyone use a comparison site then apply directly with a selected provider, not the cheapest, and get a substantially cheaper deal direct?
|
I have used a comparison site and then phoned a company not on the sites with my quote and they matched it!

Tried that with NFU this year after they raised SWM's C2 renewal substantially, they offered a £50 reduction but still £100 more expensive than Co-op, so for the first time in many years we've shifted one of our insurances if they'd got within £50 we'd have stayed.
Hope Co-op are as good as they used to be should we be unfortunate enough to need them, didn't start well as they seemed unable to read the 65% NCD clearly written on NFU's renewal notice and required a covering letter from NFU...hope i don't find that was an expensive £100 saving.
Waiting with baited breath to see what ludicrous figure they want for the MB when renewal is due....which is now 15 years old....could it qualify for classic insurance yet i wonder?

Ha, I thought that when I insured my 17 year old Landcruiser, with a company that claims to insure on this basis for vehicles over 15 years old.
But apparently, only some 15 year old vehicles (and he wouldn't tell me which) are 'classics', but a Land Cruiser wasn't.

Dave if you had been born a girl you'd have been a right tease>:-)
You can't just tell a chap that company A classes something as classic at 15 years without divulging....it's like trying to squeeze blood from a stone sometimes here....;)

Vauxhall Tigra? Nissan 100 NX? Daewoo Espero?

I was expecting a shock when the renewal for the 330 came through. Well it is up 15%, from £302 to £349, including legal, but still pretty fair in my opinion.
When I get the time I shall use a few comparative sites, but doubt they will be much cheaper than IAM Surety.
