 Any Scousers around ? - borasport
I know there are one or two here ..

We are off to Tate Liverpool this afternoon to see the Magritte exhibition, and I now find out there are loads of road closures because of the waterfront festival - I'm guessing they will very much affect the area round the Tate.

I'll be coming down the M62, any suggestions on how to best avoid ?

Go to Birkinhead and park there and catch the ferry in !

I'd go with RP's suggestion. There are also trains from Birkenhead.

If you can get into the centre away from the river there's a good car park in the basement of the Catholic Cathedral. The Lord will look after your hub caps!!!

As far as I know, The Strand (runs the landward side of Liver building etc) is still fully open so you shouldn't have any major problems.

From the M62 just follow Edge Lane to the city and maybe park in the Liverpool One car park, the entrance to which is on The Strand itself.

You will love the exhibition - I went on bank hol monday, when I had a kid free weekend. I went on the train, because I calculated it was cheaper than driving/parking. Might not work for two on the train though.

Liverpool invented "Park and Ride" you know.

Park in Liverpool and you have to get the bus home...

@Humph - why do you think I cleared the car before we went ?

@AlistairW - enjoyed it very much thank you, but it wasn't kid free - some chap, presumably it was his weekend with the kids, was dragging a four year and two year old round. boy, were they not happy, and boy, did the rest of us know it
