How does forum post rating fit in with the relaxed ethos of this site? As others have said it can lead to ganging up, bullying, forum favourites etc. It can also lead to new or nervous posters feeling their input isn't valued.
How is it self moderation? Folks can mark posts up or down on a whim... just a single click... with no real thought or even handed standard of judgement. That's lynch mob law not moderation.
If it is allowed to run and the stats are produced I bet anything the *leading* poster will not be the best but the one with the biggest gang.
And of course at the moment it is locking up pages with the Windows script warning!
