...in my garden. Near the greenhouse and where the water but overflows.
Its got a very tough woody consistency on the outside, softer inside, smells faintly of lemon when rubbed or cut.

Is Fifi constipated by any chance?
That looks like a dog turd to me.

The last time I saw fungi like that, it had started off as simple bread mould....... :)

Might be a puffball, but it's fairly damaged.

Nah - far too woody and tough exterior for a puffball.

I used to believe the theory that you could test a fungus by rubbing it and lightly licking your finger - if it tasted all right, it was OK to eat.
But after reading of the man who miss-identified a fungus and nearly died and had to have one of his daughter's kidneys spliced in, I don't eat any wild mushrooms etc now. I'm too old to die.

Well as you lot have FAILED, I have used the ispot site as suggest by old man meldrew.
Useless bunch.

And what have they told you? Have you cooked it yet?
|

There we are Zero, its a deadly Webcam mushroom. Don't look at it.
|
This is the weirdest fungus I ever found in our garden. When I first saw it I thought it was a creature of some sort.
It smells horrible if you mess with it, as well.
Sorry about the pic quality - I was bent almost double and couldn't really see the screen on the camera.
