hi room, im off to deal in kent tomorrow (sunday) travelling down from j21 m1 (leicester)... ive google mapped the route and it says partial toll road on two sections of the m25 i think one is for crossing the dartford tunnel
what are partial toll roads? and secondly ive looked at the traffic watch website and there seems to be an awful lot of speed restrictions on the m25 too , the last time i drove down to the channel ports the m25 hadnt been built.
any advise on making the trip as painless as possible would be appreciated....cheers ...zoo

M1 from about Milton Keynes for about 25 miles is 50 MPH due to roadworks.

There is more on the M25 from the M1 towards Dartford. Some near the A1M interchange and some nearer the A12. I don't have the exact positions but they should be available here:

Speed limits in the roadworks are 50 MPH. Checked by average speed cameras so stay at 50 throughout the works.


Two tolls, one on the bridge (M25 clockwise) and one for the tunnel anticlockwise.

Dartford crossing will be 30 bob (10pm to 6am free), seeing as it was probably still old money when you last went there i thought we'd better keep it simple..:-)

Sunday travelling, hope it's reasonably early cos in the afternoon the world and his wife will be returning to hell having used their weekend release passes, and few of them look further ahead than the length of their bonnet.

I'd be inclined to nip down A14 and M11 to join M25, miss out the blinking M1 roadworks, but check the various sites for possible weekend roadworks on all routes.

30/- just to go through a tunnel...blimey, hey thanks for the info, were off to visit friends , coming back monday may take in leeds castle and canterbury....no rush to get back home

The bargain price of 30/- is so amazingly popular that you may have to queue for an hour or so at peak times.
