I was in Australia for the recent royal wedding, I think a girl named Kate was involved. Every TV I caught sight of regardless of the time of day or night was showing the story.
Where can I hide from the Olympics?
Unless there is any motor racing involved of course.

Abbottabad is out.

Not many places I think to hide.

If you can find anywhere still standing. Not a good idea to visit earthquake zones when they are at a cycle peak. Rather like the richards that plan to visit an active volcano area in September

Son lives in Wellington Zero.Looking forward seeing him eartquakes or not.;)

You don't have to hide simply switch off the TV if you don't want to watch. MInd you you will be missing out on a major event which most people will be interested in.
Don't act so old!

This is the last hiding place of grumpy old men, the online portal of moaning minnies. What do you expect.

Great event to see it live I suppose anybody who can go.

True, very true. It's easy to get into that mind set I guess. More rewarding to take an interest in as many things as possible, to try things that you have never done before, to question your own prejudices.

They'll be nowhere to hide :-/ some of us couldn't care less about sport.
I'd just set everything you normally watch to record then you can skip any olympics related guff. If it's on the bbc then over running programmes will at least be on iplayer in full.

Where to hide Navy?..if you find yerself cruising down the A14 Northants, a haven of peace and tranquility awaits not 5 minutes from it...here you will find no propaganda/news programs, or gameshows, or reality shows and absolutely no sport at all, all like minded decent folk welcome.
no newspapers either.

Almost with you totally....but can't give up on Spurs.
Wives, Friends, Jobs, Cars all come and go - but you never leave your team.

A lot of others have...:-))

Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the Spurs flag flying here.
(freely adapted from a more famous work) :-)

Had a poster of Jimmy Greaves once:-)

Really?
Can't say I've ever seen them, except in a Western.

This obsession with soccer and corresponding tribal allegiances to teams oddly named after towns and cities, with which the players, owners and staff have little or no geographical connection, is rather odd.
The seeking of a shared identity with others purely based on "sport" must fill a psychological need of some sort - perhaps it is to replace the, now largely lost, identity of our nation which is now under attack from all sides by "Internationalists" and wave after wave of immigration by other ethnicities.
Discuss!
