When did she pass on. I remember my Mum playing her stuff.

Like many of our generation, I was in love with her..........guided to fame by Bert Ambrose, the 1930s ' big band ' leader. I'm not sure he was too good for her, though.

A sad songbird, plaything of movers and shakers in the business, unable to survive when discarded... there have been many such, some with real talent.
Kathy Kirby wasn't my kind of minstrel really but she did have this sort of pathetic appeal, and a true and strong voice too. But no real artistic taste of her own so no body of consistent work. I didn't like 'Secret Love'. Too Hollywood. A pub song really.
A couple of months younger than me too. RIP.

This Tube shows her in later years - it shook me actually, best not to look if you're sensitive, like me :(

Very sad account of her life on Wiki - I have memories of her in the background when I was a kid.
