Hi,
Does anybody have any experience driving or owning a Lancia Kappa?
I've seen a very nice example, 140,000 km, FSH, 2000 V5, but can't seem to find any reviews on the net regarding long-term use. (Yes, I know it's a Fiat in fancy dress, or worse, a poor man's Alfa), but please try to leave your prejudices at the door!
Thanks,
SimonB

Hen's teeth don't come close - this is seriously rare! All I can find one sold (here) but no price given.

Its a great looking piece of kit, has the lines of Lancias past (not like the current ones that look like shrecks testicles)

Decent looking jalopy too. If it was a good one I'd say go for it.
Who said Lancias were poor man's Alfas? What a booboo. It's really the other way round.
But there was a truly ghastly looking small Lancia a few years ago. Things do fall apart rather over time.

Good heavens! Have I agreed with Zero on a matter of Eurobox aesthetics?
One of us must be wearing the wrong specs don't you think Zeddo?

I like to think of it as teaching a father to appreciate the arts and crafts,

Not so rare here (Israel). There are sixteen for sale one one internet site.
1995 - 1998: 5,000 sheqels (ca. 900 GBP) to 35,000 sheqels.
They were used in Poland as official governmental cars so I wondered if BBD knew anything about them.
For all you Hebrew speakers out there, here is the internet site: you can at least look at the photos.

If you open the full site address in Google Language, translate Hebrew to English, you"ll get some idea of what's going on.

There are still "plenty" around in Italy. Nice car, go for it! Parts wise if it is the same as the Delta then there is a garage local to me that specialises in Integrales. Its called Walkers..

Another Lancia admirer here - back in 1993 I seriously considered a Dedra. (When did you last see one of those?) Tipo-based and handsome only from some angles, it still appealed to my younger self as something distinctive but affordable. I especially liked the blue plaid seat fabric.
As I recall (I could look it up but I'm too idle) the pre-TV Inspector Morse drove a Lancia and preferred Wagner to Mozart. Both were thought too outré for Middle England on Sunday evening, so were changed for safer options.
I've read one Morse book, but it was a late one, by which time Morse had caught up with his TV self and had a Jaguar. I think Lewis stayed Welsh, though.

I tried one soon after we moved to France, which would make it about the same age as the one that interests OP. It was a 2.4 diesel IIRC.
I found it very nice to drive, with very pleasant and comfortable interior surroundings as well. At that time Lancias still looked like proper cars rather than kids' toys and the quality of fit and finish was surprising. I guess I was biased at the time because I had always liked the Thema, particularly the Turbo - a very under-rated range that suffered in the UK because Lancia had already died the death on the forecourts.
The only reason we didn't buy the Kappa was because we decided we needed something with a hatchback.
As an aside, I did a press road test on a pre-release Dedra back in about 1991. It wasn't a bad motor by any means but I said to the Lancia guy 'you aren't really going to call it that in the UK, are you?'
Well, I did try to warn them...
