According to Which?, Motorpoint have the last new Daihatsu in the UK for sale. It's a Sirion 1.3SE with Sport pack, and they have the car on sale for £ 6999.
At the Geneva motor show, Daihatsu said they would be selling a rebadged Toyota Yaris as the Daihatsu Charade in Europe until their withdrawal from Europe in 2013. However, IM, the current UK importer of Daihatsu, plan to sell Great Wall cars from China in the UK.
Looks doubtful now that the UK will get the 'new' Daihatsu.
Motorpoint also have some nearly new Daihatsu Materias for sale

I assume the importer know that the Perry is banned from sale in the UK because they FIAT took them to court for literally copying the Panda.
I don't think the UK is ready for this sort of ethnics yet.
Who will provide the warranty on these new Daihtaus?

You mean the ethics that hug dictators... ship has sailed my friend :-)
Not to mention illegal downloads which I hear are rather popular, the days of hard and fast ethics are long gone.
What country did Fiat take them to court in?

It went to the EU courts, FIAT succeeded in getting an injuction banning them selling the Great Wall Perri in Europe as it is an ilegal Panda clone.
[quote]In 2008 an Italian court banned sales of the Great Wall Peri in the European Union because the car too closely resembles a Fiat Panda.[25][26][27] Great Wall continued selling the car outside the EU, however.

Just google the dashboard of the Great Wall peri, it is a straight clone of the Pandas.

Id still buy one if it was £3k. Gotta love dictatorships for shameless reverse engineering :-)

Daihatsu have sold an insignificant qty of cars, and have an insignificant presence in the UK to be of any consequence.,
