ive mentioned this a few times over the years but ive just had it confirmed in a trade journal
tyre prices have gone up in my estimation 50% this last three years, the bad news is they have not reached anything like peak and there is going to be a shortage of raw materials due to certain countries insisting on winter tyres as mandatory
a little story
i ordered some german tyres for a friend two weeks back there were only 2 listed in the country on stock in a well known makers tyre depot, they were on backorder of 500 awaiting delivery and the manufacturer could give no firm delivery time
ps these tyres are oe factory fit and very popular

you all been warned buy now if you need rubber

Likely size and brand dependent

Geolanders for my old Forester were £147 each when I bought it 2.5yrs ago - they're now £148 each (blackcircles.com)

Just about all types of winter tyres are on offer in Germany and summer tyres are no dearer or infact cheaper than last year must be a British thing.

I agree BB, i've noticed that better quality tyres have steadily increased in price over the last 3 or so years.

I wonder though if it's a reflection of how weak our currency (and Euro) is.
Seeing how Japanese built cars are becoming too expensive to import, is this a similar case...i don't know what currency natural rubber, and other chemicals would be traded in, but would be interested to hear what someone who does keep an eye on world exchange rates thinks.

Fortunately, the lancer takes a cheapish 195/60/R15/H

I can choose from 35 to 75 quid a corner.

I had four Pirelli P-Zero Rosso 255/40 R19 fitted this week.

My wallet is still sulking.

I doubt Kevin's tyres are really that much more expensive to make than Zero's. I reckon it's a case of tyre makers thinking people who drive cars with 19" wheels can afford to spend more than those who drive cars with piddly little 15"ers.
