Quite a good idea for the biggest country in the region to be on good terms with them, as well as other western and eastern countries, Dog.
These huge popular demonstrations, in which the large middle class intelligentsias of Tunisia and Egypt have been very much to the fore (with other popular forces scowling and grimacing in the background though) seem to be making everyone think.
However perro old fruit, I think you are right to strike a note of pessimism or caution. Continuity alone in a large economy like that will ensure that a rose-coloured revolution probably won't be where we are when the dust settles.
One has to remember the weight of the forces in play. When the system shudders, everyone gets jumpy, for good reason.
