I have Outlook 2007. I only have about 60 contact email addresses but I would like to copy a dozen of these to a separate list, such that I could get all of them entered in one click into the address box of an email to be sent. Can anyone tell me how to do this please?

Open Contacts
File>New>Distribution list>Select Members

Set up a distribution list. Sorry, I'd have the fire up t'other pc to give you directions but try typing "distribution list" into help.
I'd also suggest that you send the email to yourself and put the recipients names / distribution list name in the bcc box so that you aren't publishing email addresses to one and all. unless they know each other and aren't bothered of course.
