I suddenly noticed last night over supper that food labels don't seem to have long lists of E-numbers any more. They used to be all the rage, and we all scanned the labels spotting the usual deadly and verboten ingredients. We even had a yellow book for looking them up in.
Now they have vanished. Have they been renamed as something else, like Windscale and Global Warming?

You don't want to go about putting an E number on a label these days. People associate them with "bad".
So you put the actual name of the product on instead, because how many people are going to look up what acesulfame K actually does?

Also, have you noticed the increased amount of food which now goes off quickly because its had the preservatives removed from it?
