Sounds like one of those cars that will be worth more to it's owner than it'd realise on sale, which is a real shame I think. There is a 'free' car valuation tool on the vauxhall website here:

Suspect the engine code is D5252T which is the old Audi-doodey engine. Can go the distance with correct servicing but can also be a royal, expensive PITA. Have the belts been done to schedule ? I understand this can be a source of major problems.
Also, get it on wet grass and check the Haldex AWD works. Not much point in a 2wd XC model.
