Chrome and Spell Check. - Bromptonaut
I use Chrome as my default web browser. Tried others in the past like Safari but stuck with Chrome not least because when I was working it was what the employer prescribed.

After a recent update I'm struggling with getting its spell check to work when (eg) posting to this forum.

Select 'settings' from drop down at top right of the screen. Go to languages and select check for spelling errors when you type text on web pages. Language is English UK and Enhanced Spell Check is selected.

Windows settings in Time and Language Typing has autocorrect misspelled words and highlight misspelled words both selected.

All is hunky dory until next day, or perhaps after a restart, and the options above are off again.

Am I missing a save permanently option somewhere?

That particular setting seems to have a documented history of reverting for some people.

Can't give you a reason, but a quick way of checking/resetting is to right click in the "text entry box" (e.g. the message entry are on here) and select "Spell check" and set the options if they've reverted.

(It's quicker and easier than going through the full "Chrome Settings" route.)

Interestingly, Opera (Chromium based) recently did similar for me switching to Spanish spellcheck!
