Rainbow does Top Gear - smokie
Strong motoring connection, but also very strong language and sexual content. Apparently a spoof made for Clarkson's birthday. Made me laugh in places but won't be everyone's cup of tea.

REMINDER: very strong sexual imagery and language

Clarkson's birthday... yeh right. Still a tiny bit amusing. No more than that.

Just watched it again. Still just as funny 2nd time around.

That reminded me of the 'retro' that Ford were thinking of launching.

The Ford Pubic - Based on the Corsair.

I love spoofs, wicked sense of humour in this one.

Oh dear! Am I the only one to think it's puerile?

Foul language is no excuse for good humour. Shaun the sheep does it for me. ;>)

No Tom, you're not.

I realised after watching it my face bore exactly the same expression as it did the other night when I inadvertently tuned in to a Norman Wisdom film.

No your not, it is purile.

But being purile in itself can be funny. However you miss the point in this case, its not the language, its the context.

A nation of children were brought up on Bungle, Geoffrey, George and yes - Zippy.

Every boy knew that secretly zippy was a dirty foulmouthed perverted wretch, even down to the fact he was made with the zip from the flies of a mans pair of trousers.

Thats what makes it funny.

I saw an X-rated version about 20 yrs ago.
Bungle grasses up Zippy :" Oh, geoffrey, look what Zippy is doing to george..." and Zippy loses it, in supreme fashion, calling Bungle all the rude names under the sun!

Haven't got the link with me (and being at work restricts me searching), but if you google rainbow twanger then you should find it.

Seems Geoffrey, Zippy, etc aren't quite the childrens presenters everyone thought they were.

I have a copy of that on my PC at home somwhere, it was done as a not for broadcast joke by the production crew, presumably to take away on video for their own amusement.

Sir:

am I alone in perceiving that this video is in danger of sending the wrong signals to impressionable young muppets?

'Top gear' is extremely difficult and expensive to obtain. No properly brought-up rubber-stuffed piece of ugly plush would dream of 'doing' any in front of a camera. Were they to do so, however, their vulgar double-entendres and simulated sex acts would be far more polished than those in the video.

Or so I am advised by my Sin and Poor Behaviour panel of experts.

Yours disgustedly,

Maj-Gen Sir Centewen Wew (retd.)

I always thought 'curly and straight' was quite clever...
