I have a nail in a rear tyre causing a very (very) slow puncture. but obviously don't want it to get worse. Trying to get it repaired... Come back tomorrow and leave it.. Phoned one place, someone would call me back.. nobody did.. Everyone wants to keep the car and I can go back later when phoned...
Tried to lift the car on the Suzuki supplied jack and not very stable at all. will take the car to the Suzuki dealer and if necessary leave it with them..

Why such complications? I found a screw in the right rear tyre . Took it to my local tyre shop. He said come back tomorrow for a new tyre . Old one not repairable as it was right on the edge . About £90 all fitted . Bit of an odd size tyre on these.

Yep.

1. Find puncture
2. Call Formula 1 by Sainsburys and ask for replacement to be called up from stock
3. Visit by appointment and either get it repaired or replacement fitted.

Send a good-looking female round with the car. My experience is that she will jump the queue in most tyre outfits.

There's a new independent place just by the railway station and he took the wheel off. Found the screw and repaired the puncture.
£20 ..

Depending where the nail is in the tyre, I've previously used a "tyre nail" kit for a DIY repair.

The local garage tried to warn me of the dangers of these DIY repairs, (only use as temp repair method to get you home or to a garage etc) but the last time I used one, I had no problems at all in the following 10 months and 9,000 miles (approx) before the tyre had worn down to the TWI marks and needed replacing.


The tyre garage I use examined the tyre where I did the DIY repair and said everything looked good.
I kept a regular check on the repair (I put a small paint mark on the sidewall of the tyre to indicate where the tyre nail was) and checked the pressures occasionally.
