Earlier in the week, I used the 2011 Venga for a shopping run, Swmbo hasn't used it much latelly.
Told her the aircon wasn't blowing cold.
Wasn't fussed about doing much about it, but I used it again Wednesday. Immediately went around to my local indie where they were a few minutes short of lunch break but said we're very quiet, so now if you want. £85.00 later checked, no leaks, but almost no gas left in it. It is 15 years old and never had a rechargge, so no complaints.

8 years ago, I bought a 2003 Focus ghia for £500 . Never had the ac recharged in my ownership . It blows colder than my friend’s 2018 bmw X 3 .

According to my obsessively compiled Mk1 Focus service record (kept for reference and old times sake) the aircon's only attention was a re-gas at 131,000 miles and nearly 18yrs old. My Audi A8 had a re-gas at just before its 17th birthday but at only at around74000 miles. From this statistically irrelevant series of two, it seems that age rather than mileage is the killer.

Correct.

I was told an acceptable leakage was up to 10% per annum.
