That is some price change. A base iX1 used to be £43555, BMW have reduced it to £37065 list price, and then it now qualifies for the Govt grant , so new price to pay is £33315!

10k cheaper

Wouldnt like to have one of these on finance just now , used values must surely plummet

I bet BMW UK have suffered due to these being taken off Motability.

We looked at iX1 when getting an EV in late 2024 and they really need a chunk extra spending on them to get a reasonable spec. At the time there were plenty of mid-£50K list models kicking around with £10K off.

Yeah I am a prospective customer for a 1 or 2 year old one so hopefully this will drive prices down.
Seen a lots of folk who have y the cats back on PCP deals as the balloon payment was far far higher than the car was worth. (Not sure in this instance that you then just watch for the car hitting a forecourt at the lower price and buy it up again).

Agreed re spec. For £30k I can get an ex demonstrator Chinese car with all the toys and gadgets and a 7/8 year warranty.
Or a 3 year old iX1 with 20k miles and 1 year warranty

There were quite a lot of completely base spec nearly-new iX1's in the dealer network when we were looking - I wondered if they were Motability early returns. They seemed expensive compared to discounted new - but I've seen that a lot with VW Group cars, where new can be cheaper than used due to discounts etc.

Well, yes Bobby, you could.
Heaven forfend that you you find yourself in any such circumstances any time soon, but can you imagine laying on that trolley, staring up at the passing strip lights, knowing how unlikely it seems that you will be leaving that building in anything other than a box, while reflecting on what your family will do with the BYD or the Leapmotor?
It’s all too tragic isn’t it?
;-)

Ha ha it would be straight to WBAC like with any car…..

Saw a used BMW that ticked all my boxes but was at Vines down in London. I am pretty sure if it was at my local dealer I am sure I would have been a salesman’s dream!

My wife doesn’t like the huge iPad type middle screens that the Chinese cars seem to have. But I think she is just being clever cos she knows that will mean another BMW !

I am keeping an eye on iX1 prices to see how they react to the price reduction and Govt subsidy.

For the toys / package I want I can spend

£31K for a Oct 24 car with 10K miles
£34k for a Feb 2025, with the superior "engine" at 10k miles (one of the last sub higher rate road tax cars you can get)

or folk on the FB groups are saying they are ordering cars for March delivery and getting £48k cars for nearer £36k with all the toys....

Am sure this means the used prices must fall again soon!

Once you have driven a car with a large screen you realise that the bigger the better.

Once you have driven a car with no physical Heating/Aircon controls, you realise screen size doesent matter.

Six months of the year my car is set to 21 degrees and auto.
The other six months it is set to 19 and auto.

Occasionally in winter I will need to use the demister especially if I have a wet dog in car.
Occasionally in summer I might need to turn down to cold.

Navigation, music, radio etc all far easier and clearer on a large screen.

Only if you have a co-pilot doing the work. Expecting a driver to take their eyes off the road to navigate screens is a recipe for disaster.

You only use the SatNav or play the radio when you have an assistant? My point ws that it is far clearer having a large screen that than a small one.
