I thought I would start a separate thread about the S-Cross and my ongoing experiences. Only done about a hundred miles since collecting friday last week. Spotless and no marks anywhere and wheels unmarked too. Seats a bit firmer than the Korando and from memory of my test drive in a Vitara, maybe a bit wider but good lateral support. Been mostly urban driving but showing 40.7 mpg Reply to this message | Report message

I 'think' my sis-in-law has one of these (I haven't seen it yet). She does very few miles and after her Mercedes A-class became uneconomic to repair I suggested she would be a perfect candidate for a cheap used EV - I suggested a Renault Zoe (with an owned battery). They go shopping and she comes back with a pre-registered new S-Cross (I think). Chalk and cheese to a Renault Zoe. Obviously a successful car salesman got his hands on them! £20k ish pre-reg... I paid £14,699 for a car 24 plate reg late july 2024 @ 16,400 miles got it non franchise in Braintree as my Colchester dealer didn't have any in stock over the past couple of weeks, once I had decided to bite the bullet with the Korando 5 year service coming up with ALL fluids changed.. Last year was bad enough and a lost day to drive Colchester to Wymondham for a dealer service to maintain warranty (7 years on mine) and wait and drive home. Remember you doing the same with the Ssangyong, sort of understand that ( hoping that others think its something it isnt?)but don't understand the logic of doing it on the Suzuki. Trust the services it's had where with a franchised dealer? Have a play with the display on the drivers side binnacle, interesting to see when the 48v electric motor helps, most noticeable under acceleration in third gear in my experience, quite a strange feeling at first...oh and take it out of economy mode.. Notchy…sounds familiar. Same on my 2019 Vitara. I think newer models have a digital speedo in the centre of the binnacle ? Should I go down the S Cross route, rather than Karoq, it would be useful if it could be converted to KPH which I assume it can. Reply to this message | Report message

Place filled with antiques, very reasonable for our dates, Blodwen accepted, supplement for her is 10Euros 1st nught plus 5 per night thereafter. Reply to this message | Report message

Is it ALLGRIP or two wheel drive…the original Conti EcoContacts on the rear of my Vitara lasted 45k miles, and were on 1.6/1.7mm tread when changed. If you want me to put some miles on it, about 2,500, I’ll be in Plymouth this weekend sailing South. I can leave you my 1.4 manual as a runaround ? Reply to this message | Report message

I’m not usually one for de-badging, but I do sympathise when it comes to Suzuki. ALLGRIP versions tend to have three badges in vertical orientation. That’d be OK if they weren’t all in different fonts…. Reply to this message | Report message

Been thinking about this, personally I don't think the badges look to bad on a s- cross but that said I have taken off the locking wheel nuts on the swift to improve the look ( in my mind!!) I had a sit in one yesterday when collecting touch up paint for the Vitara…with a lot of motorway miles imminent thought I’d prep the 2 stone chips on the bonnet. Almost identical dash buttons to my 2019…only thing different was the addition of a larger touch screen, some different charging ports and being an Ultra spec , the relevant control for that. Same sunroof controls, glad to see the sunglasses holder remains. Slightly more cabin space and extra 50L boot space, but didn’t look that much larger. Same cheapo trim all round, but still room for a space saver spare. Uninspiring colours…deep blue and a metallic darker red being the only colours I’d have. Reply to this message | Report message

There was me mystified as no headlamp adjustment button and not knowing about the need or not for beam deflectors. Our Local dealer Levois were super helpful this morning when i went round with the query about beamdeflectors/headlight adjustment, Hooked it up to their machine. Rsult, Full LED headlihts and automatic self levelling from what I unferstood and flat beam. Asked about software update for DAB+ and they'll ask Suzuki as nothing on their system. They'll install front and rear dashcam for me. And I didn't buy the car from them, but have spent over £600 so far with them and happy to do so. I must admit, not used to this level of help. Levois supplied my space saver wheel kit…just realised I saw a headlight beam adjustment on the Ultra spec yesterday unless i’m imagining it..not on my Vitara which i think is self levelling Reply to this message | Report message

Led headlights are self levelling with no dash adjustment switch . Regular halogen lights have the level adjustment switch to the right of the steering column. Led lights have a flat beam so no need for any masks. Reply to this message | Report message

There are 3 types of headlights for the Vitara . Halogen on both dip and main . Led dip and halogen main and lastly full led on both dip and main . Reply to this message | Report message
