Received a safety recall yesterday to have the drivers airbag replaced on our Polo. We've owned it coming up to seven years and it rolled off the production line in 2008.

They don't hang about, the Germans.

I have a handbook which advises checking the airbag every 10 years - not sure how that would be usefully done without needing a new one ....
