Quentin Willson R.I.P. - James Loveless
Top Gear star and motoring journalist Quentin Willson has died aged 68.

Rather young, you might think, but he had lung cancer.

Met him a few times, used to come into Screwfix, nice guy, no edge.

Wasn't there some story about him wrecking an E-Type that was on loan to the TG team, with strict instructions not to 'rag it'?

I also seem to recall his later career advertising 'snake oil'.

Such a shame, damn good journalist, may he rest in peace.

Long Twitter thread from Lawrence Whittaker listing all QWs demands before he would be an ambassador for Warrantywise that LW owns.
Including QW wanted to have power of veto over any refused warranty claims.

Owner of Lister Cars, and CEO of WarrantyWise. Very active on X/Twitter, very well off, all round nice bloke. Incredible fleet of cars including a newish Unimog.

I won a copy of his 1993/94 Cars of the Year book by answering some questions in an audience participation game show on the TG stand at the NEC in 1993. It's autographed by QW and JC. They both smelled of aftershave and Marlboro.
