I recently bought a 2023 Apple Mac mini, and I have to say. I’m really impressed. MacOS feels so much smoother and more refined than Windows. Browsing websites, watching Netflix, and streaming YouTube, everything just works beautifully. There is the AppStore, but you can also install many apps which are designed for Apple iPads and Apple phones.
With Windows 10 reaching the end of support, I started exploring my options, and the Mac mini quickly caught my attention. It’s a tiny powerhouse, more than capable for what most people need.
I picked up a second-hand Mac mini M2, but the latest Apple is the Mac mini M4 is now on sale for around £530 (new), which is a pretty good deal. I hooked mine up to my monitor and, by chance, was gifted an Apple keyboard, perfect timing! I used my logitech mouse.
If you’re after a laptop instead, Argos currently has some Black Friday deals: the MacBook Air M2 for about £699, or the newer MacBook Air M4 for £799. Apple doesn’t usually do discounts, so it feels like they’re really trying to tempt Windows users over.
I also managed to install Microsoft Word on my Mac. If you already have an Office 365 subscription, you can install it on macOS at no extra cost. Of course, Apple includes its own office suite too, which is surprisingly capable.
Of course, you can use Google apps on the Mac, which are free to use.
Overall, the experience on the Mac has been excellent. It takes a little getting used to at first, but there are plenty of great YouTube videos to help you along the way.
Any question feel free to ask.

Having been forced to use a Macbook for work for the last year, I would respectfully disagree. Small things keep irritating me.
For example, when connected via a docking station with large monitors and a mouse, there is a scroll bar. Disconnect and use the touchpad, the scroll bar mysteriously disappears. Want to use brackets (the square ones []), which I use a lot - you need to remember the correct combination of keys, the same for screenshots.
Oh, and the software is appalling.

[what] [keyboard] [are] [you] [using] ?
because on mine the [] are to the right of 'P' key and no combination of anything to get it.
