A relative has an Astra , and because of the deep boot has a lot of problems removing their scooter .
Is there any company that sells a heavy duty sturdy tray , to withstand the weight of an 80kg scooter . Any suggestions would be great , sadly a hoist is unaffordable

Is this to protect the boot floor, raise the load or both?
|
|
It’s to raise the floor level up , so the scooter doesn’t have to be lifted UPWARDS , but could just roll it down the ramps

|
Surely easy to make with some timber and ply?

What is an Astra 58?
Year? Hatch or estate?
|
|
Yeah it’s reg plate is a 58 , I know little about cars ,and assume different models , and yes it’s a hatchback

That is a possibility , I’d imagine a local carpenter could do some 4x2’s and some ply , with enough beams it should hold the weight ,but was just wondering if there is something custom made out there

Usual forum answer; they need a different car.
As ever a Berlingo would fit the bill :-P

I was hoping it was going to be an Astra K 'cos the answer would be straightforward. Get the spare wheel kit as it raises the boot floor.
I think it's going to have to be the carpenter route as suggested previously.

There are companies' that sell that sort of thing. Toyota used to provide one for the Yaris, but then another company made custom ones. I suggest a bit of googling of 'boot floor raisers'.

Not a heavy duty solution but Opel part number 39059254 is a double floor insert which could presumably be reinforced underneath.

I think that will only fit the K. They do similar for the L. I don't know if one was available for the H.
Perhaps a main dealer would know if you can find anyone in the Parts Department (more likely a desk in the corner) old enough to remember the H.
