Stephen has pulled out al the stops and it is looking like the sign in issues (for there was more than one) have been FIXED as of 30 minutes ago.
If you are in touch with anyone there or are still a member of HJ and want to encourage people to join us please feel free to do so
I don't believe existing requests will appear, so if they've tried they should try again - they may need to use a different username. EDIT: Seems I can see a list of unvalidated users so I can work from that but it's a manual job and there are 130 in the last 30 days so it will take me some time (days not weeks hopefully, many of them look spammy)
As I understand it the requests to validate weren't reaching us and had there been a reply that wouldn't have reached them!! It might sound like a simple reconfig to some but in Stephen's words "The code is very old and nasty, so it is easy to make mistakes in it.... I had to install a new email library so that the encryption works ok to the mail server. But all should be good."
So fingers crossed it's all good technically.
However we do have work to do regarding the Online Safety Act. This is in hand, and my first impression is that we are low on the scale of risk and will be able to manage the requirements ourselves which should secure the future of car4play. Bromps is helping me with interpretation and subsequent implementation of requirements, which I'm hoping we will complete to Stephens satisfaction within the next week.
