How to waste your remaining days on this planet - sherlock47
I have just wasted 90 minutes of my time and 30 minutes of swmbo searching for our robot vacuum cleaner. My renowned inability to find things was trumped by wife also not finding it, leading to the conclusion that somebody had done a walk in and snatch since it is partially visible from the front door. So 30 minutes reviewing camera footage, made more difficult because we had had a gardener working and tripped the cameras over the 3 day period that we were that it had gone AWOL. Nothing found. By this point we were convinced it had gone walkies. By then I I was wandering around Amazon to find alternatives or upgrades.

I interrogated swmbo again and discovered that her inspection of my study had only been cursory. Could she please redo it. Lo and behold it magically reappeared, underneath a chair.

I am now a firm believer in the multiverse. So perhaps wasted time on this planet is not actually 'wasted'.

Ours frequently gets 'confused' when looking for its charging station and will go and hide under a bed. Fun & games.

At around age 11 a school eye test disclosed I was short sighted and needed specs. For next 40 ish years I wore them day round.

Aging etc meant single focus no longer met the bill and varifocals were prescribed. Then, as time has gone by, I discovered that for reading print and using a PC I'm better off without. I'd get to the office, put them on the desk and leave them there until end of day.

Now I WfH I don't need to put them on until tea time when I'm watching news etc on the telly.

I also use soft daily contact lenses on occasions for convenience outdoors (binoculars etc), vanity, and not looking like a villain in photos as photochromic lenses go dark.

Wore the contacts on Sunday at family reunion in Liverpool.

On Tuesday needed specs on to drive and couldn't find them; wore contacts instead.

Got home and couldn't find the bloomin specs anywhere. Was convinced I'd had them on Monday. Mrs B and I spent ages in the afternoon searching the usual places (lost glasses are a household routine) but drew a blank.

Eventually found them yesterday after opening a random glasses case lurking by my travel bag.

I'd grabbed the case from the car on Sunday while at son's house and glasses were hiding there ever since.

The best way to find something you've mislaid is to start looking for something else.
