In the recent warm spell I've been aware of my PC making a noise - fans running.

Quick look inside disclosed the processor heat sink to be clogged with dust.

Clean out with a crevice tool on a low power vac and normal service is resumed.

They do tend to accumulate dust. Reminds me I should look at mine. I was surprised at how much the last case fan I bought cost.
