Caught the train to London last week to meet a client who I had never met, in their offices which are just near St Pancras so took the train to Ashford and the HS1 train to London from Ashford.
The train to Ashford had 3 carriages and wasn't particularly busy.
Arrived at the London address and it was the man sitting who had been sitting diagonally opposite me across the isle on the Ashford train.
I had no idea that he lived in the same town. What's more annoying is that his firm rents offices from one of those big shared space office companies and so he had to book a meeting room at quite some expense.
So we both spent £108 on train fare and he spent several hundred on the meeting room. Plus the travel time.
Next meeting will be at the local branch or restaurant!
