My dad has an electric riser recliner chair. The recliner bit doesnt seem to be working properly and keeps sticking.
Have tried looking at it and although I can see the riser part works by the motor pushing a piston out and back in , I just cannot see how the reclining part operates (not helped obviously by the fact that its not currently doing what it is supposed to do!
Definitely only one motor in it as far as I can see.
Anyone any experience of this ?

I often hear of these things giving problems. It seems they're not designed well. I think you'll need an upholsterer to take the chair apart and an engineer to look at the mechanics.

I think the mechanics are on show, I just can't work oiut how it works!
Must be springs or levers or something but just can't work it out!
Which is infuriating!

Can you search for the model on yt?

I would if I had taken a note of the motor details when I had the chair upside down at my dad's......
Far too sensible an idea....

Bit late now, but for things like this I always take a photo or six with my phone. It helps when I have a flash of inspiration a week later and I can check back for the serial no. etc.
