I wonder what the victim smells like?

Still, it wouldn't happen in any other pub eh? :-)

When I just started secondary school one of my classmate's (who is still a mate) older brother was the doorman at a town centre pub.

Some git, who has never been found, put a flick-knife in and finished him.

There was a bit of a fuss about opening this place and granting a licence - wonder whether this incident is enough to close it down.

Zippy, anyone who knows you is likely to cark it, surprised we are still all here.

You are all a figment of my imagination and when I croak, you will cease to exist! :-)

People who refuse to hold their phones in landscape mode when shooting videos!

An interesting clip of great intellectual and cultural all shot in portrait mode!!

Hanging's too good for them.

That grinds my gears too; particularly when the subject is an
aircraft.

You know what gets my goat? Grammar pedants who then produce tortuous sentences like that above.

Indeed.

Next time anyone's in Central London, I'd recommend the Downing Street branch of 'Spoons.

It's a "happening" sort of place with a lively clientele, extended opening hours, and apparently has a decent beer-garden too.

Yesterday evening, I composed and posted a very nice paragraph about the Wetherspoons branch a bit further along Whitehall - on the left before you get to Trafalgar Square, next door to the Whitehall Theatre - home of the Whitehall Farces - oh the irony!

And then I discovered that that branch of 'Spoons was now permanently closed! Irony on irony. In my panic I deleted the post, but the software doesn't allow a complete deletion, so I left a full stop.

O.K. mock away.

I've been to the Whitehall one, wasn't bad at all!

Me too, a useful meeting place, but always been rammed when I've been there. Fascinated by the tunnels downstairs.
Been in a building opposite that had the same tunnels - told they were napoleonic. That building had VERY tight security!
Helped out a french family who were a little bemused at having to go to the bar and order, they were expecting staff to come to them.

Don't you have to go to the bar and order in all pubs? (Pre-Covid)

Any road, if they used the Wetherspoons app, staff would come to them.

In Duncan Class pubs, yes. Some of us in Surrey however go to pubs where we have table service.

The Jovial Sailor in Woodham, the Victoria in Woodham, the Pheasant in Betchworth, The Drumming Snipe in Mayford, The Old Plough in Cobham,

Did you want me to go on?

He'd better not hang about for long. The way things are going, he'll be the only person left, and he'll be asked to form the next Government.....

(Z will probably be first against the wall). ;-)
