I see mine isn't now working, presumably due to the new server. The ads are now taking up more of my shonky 3meg broadband. Guess I'll be visiting here less frquently.

Ah yes, it was turned off, don't know how that happened as I certainly didn't do it deliberately.

I use Adblock plus, together with Duck Duck Go as search engine, and Firefox as a browser.
These are very successful, but I disable adblock on this site, and others that are useful to me , and basically uncommercial. Someone is paying for the service.

However, I do have a decent broadband capacity.

It's a feature of our new server. We can remotely turn off your ad blocker ;)

When i recommended an Adblocker some years i was reminded by the mods that this site relies on ads. I promptly turned my adblocker off.
