Actually she’s a head of department at a large secondary school.

She was seen out with friends at the weekend having cocktails before a meal in a club /bar / restaurant type venue.

A parent who saw here there has complained to the headmaster that teachers should not be seen drinking alcohol! What’s more she took several other mothers with her to make the complaint.

I have got to ask what makes it ok for the parent to have been there but not the teacher!?

The world is going mad!

Is there a back story? Previous conflict with the same parent/teacher combo?

Hopefully the head will explain to the complainant that his staff are free to drink etc in their own time.

No backstory as far as I know and the teacher, whom I have met, is both lovely and terrifying at the same time!

Head fully supportive and suggested that next it will be vegans protesting that he eats in a steak restaurant occasionally!

there will be a backstory, maybe not involving this teacher, but Mrs Righteous and her lynch mob will certainly have history.

Disgraceful.

Kids can't get to the bar for all the b***** teachers in the way.

Our school had a ‘Field Centre’ up in the North Yorks moors where students would go do stuff for a couple of days. Generally geography field trips, but sometimes it appeared to be the flimsiest of excuse for teachers to get away from the classroom… By the time we were in the 6th form we’d figured out how to get out of the dorms without disturbing the teachers, and would then walk the mile or so to the nearest pub for a couple of pints. One memorable time we got there only to discover the teachers responsible looking after us in the pub already. The conversation went something along the lines of, look lads, we don’t mind you sneaking out for a drink, but for heavens sake don’t come to the same pub as us!

In my experience these small minded busybodies have their faces in other people's lives mostly because they don't have one of their own.

On a school trip to France aged 17 we got told "if we see you drinking, we'll have to ask you to stop. We'll be in >>that pub<< for the evening. Goodnight."

Our teachers were great.

We went to Amsterdam in the first year of senior school. What the hell were the teachers and our Parents thinking?? We ran riot. We bought GAT air pistols and flick knives and of course went out and saw the 'sights' at night. Strange but true......

We went to Switzerland on a school trip.

One of the lads had a hollow artificial leg and it was used to store bowie knives and similar on the way back.

Oh the memories of school trips to Boulogne and sneaking back loads of those red bangers...
