Honda to stop producing gasoline-only vehicles in Europe by 2022

The Japanese company has brought forward its original plan to move away from petrol-only and diesel-only vehicles by three years from its previously announced target of 2025.

Article seems confused about whether it's production in Europe or for Europe.

Once Swindon closes, do they have any other manufacturing in Europe? Not sure Turkey should be included, but the plant there is small.

Think its pretty clear Petrol only production FOR europe will stop. But its not that major a shock, it will be mostly petrol hybrid sales from then on.

Honda Turkey plant due to close at the same time as Swindon.
Makes the saloon Civic - although it was announced as 1 litre petrol & 1.6 diesel
it seems the petrols have disappeared and diesel is the only one, UK at least.

Any information on what they plan to do about their excellent lawnmowers? My HR194 has been hacking at my lawns since spring 1985. It will be a sad day if I have to go electric ;-(

"Worry not, climate change will fix your grass"

Unfortunately, it dies back in an arid summer and grows like 'ell again when it rains....... what's more, it used to stop growing in the winter. Nowadays, it has a brief pause in December/January, then it's off again.

I have a Honda HR 173 petrol mower. Was still going strong late yesterday
