Warwickshire County Council some months ago took Halfords to court. The CC took a car with a number of faults to Halfords for a service. The car had some existing faults and some faults were added.

Paragraphs 15 and 41 to 46 may be considered significant.
Halfords claimed that the person who took the car to them was not a consumer "within the meaning of the act" as he was a trading standards officer.
I wonder if Halfords will appeal further?

Obviously they haven't got an in house legal team - they must be paying an outside firm !
