Just watching my new favourite cop car show, Cop Car Workshop.
They were showing a tracker system in operation and it’s thecrxact same as I remember them when they first came out.
A screen on the sun visor that basically tells police to go left or right , whether they are getting “hotter or colderâ€.
Why are these not GPS based now similar to find my iPhone or such similar?
Looked so antiquated.

My car tells me where it is when I ask it on a phone app. Sadly it can be easily disabled.

Not at all antiquated. The phone based location systems are easily defeated, a proper tracker hidden in the car & system not so.

Here’s what one of the sellers of thes systems says:
“Unlike GPS only tracking systems, the unique signal emitted by TRACKER units cannot be jammed by GPS/GSM jammers. It also enables the police to locate vehicles even if they are hidden in underground car parks or containers. TRACKER offers products designed specially for cars, motorbikes, caravans and non-powered vehicles too.â€
