Golf has been nagging me for the last few hundred miles that my oil change service is now due. Last week I used the VW App on my ipad to book a service. Then got an email from VW thanking me and telling me my dealer would be in touch. Then got an email from the dealer saying that they had received my request and confirmed the the date. Last Friday got a text message from the dealer reminding me of the appointment. Today got a phone call from the dealer again reminding me of the service which is on Wednesday. THis morning I got a card from VW through the post telling me - guess what ? My service is due.
Please tell them to stop!

Similar with Skoda dealer when Roomster needed service. Got texts and phone call to remind me.
I guess they have a significant issue with broken appointments.
Think there was one occasion where I got a call from the Citroen specialist who serviced my Xantia asking me what time I was dropping car off. By that time it was on station car park and I was at my desk in London.

Of course what will come next after the service are the “Your opinion is important to us. Please fill in the attached survey form†emails.
Having just come back from a trip to Lanzarote I’ve has survey reqests from the airport parking co, the airline, the car hire company, the booking agency and a request from the villa owner for a tripadvisor review. I can’t keep up!

OP should have rung around say 4/5 VW dealers before booking service - there can be £100 between what one dealer charges & another - for the same service!

Possibly though I doubt it on an oil change. My main dealer is two miles away. The next nearest is a fifty mile round trip.
