Pilot committed for trial at Old Bailey. PLea hearing next week after which trial date will presumably follow - time estimate 8 weeks.
I heard on the radio yesterday that he’s planning to plead not guilty!
Why the exclamation mark? It doesn't seem an open and shut case to me. Gross Negligence will be difficult to establish.
Interesting that he was found not guilty, I wonder why the jury went the way they did? Perhaps after the battle of the experts?
Reasonable doubt I guess. You couldn’t be quite sure either way.

I gathered that. I was just idly wondering which factors swung it for the jury.

You pays your money and takes your chance - never so true with Juries.

Bromptonaut, would the court transcript, ie who said what, is that normally made available online at any point?
Reading a bit more it seems one charge wasn't given to the jury to consider. Under what sort of circumstances is this done, is it unusual?
Not read any detail on it, but probably a CPS Barrister made a decision that that charge wouldn't run.
I'm pretty sure the report said the judge didn't allow it.
Not read anything about it so wouldn't know

Here's the link, I was wrong though it doesn't say anything about who or why.

Working today so not had time to read into it.
