Temporarly forgetting it was Fri 13th, I got into the lift at work this morning.
I hate lifts and after a night out on the fizzy drinks last night I could not face the 4 flights of stairs that I normally walk up (I was bieng lazy) and still half asleep for some reason I just wandered into the lift and selected the top floor

The Lift Clanged and Clattered as it went up, and then I rememebered, its Friday 13th expecting the thing to break down It didnt I got out and went to the coffe machine for a much needed caffine fix

The machine has run out of milk and is just dispensing tar like black coffee! ugh!!!!!! still not had a coffee yet.

Despite the poppycock of all superstitions, many people still seem wary of them.

Consider though, the absurdities of whether superstitions 'travel':

If a foreigner visits this country and fails to salute a solitary magpie, is bad luck going to befall him - even though that particular superstition is unheard of in his country?

Similarly, can I visit his country and ignore said magpie?

Absolute rubbish, of course - touch wood!

My mum said Friday the 13th only counts if there's an 'r' in the month.

My son managed to write off my lovely Accord on Friday the 13th (of April so there was an r) - it was Good Friday too!

Well I'm off to a wedding reception in a few minutes for one of SWMBO's workmates .

Very pretty young lady .... ( also very pregnant !)

I hadn't realised it was Friday 13th so she is obviously not superstitious ........

However the rain is chucking it down and I am the appointed driver to the country house hotel / golf club for the frolicking.... so taking no chances on Sussex police .....not even a sip of champagne to toast the bride and groom will pass my lips.

Well if you use the proper Julian calendar instead of that new-fangled Gregorian thing you would know the correct date today is Friday 31st July so no worries.
